Local Area Information

There are lots of fantastic places to visit and things to do in the area. You'll be spoilt for choice if you enjoy walking, cycling or just pottering around the local towns and villages. Here are just a few suggestions:

Local Pub

Ten minutes walk down the lane, back to the village of Clunton, is a lovely friendly pub 'The Crown Inn', serving delicious meals which are served at various times, including a superb Sunday roast. Local ales and a selection of wines are also served and this popular pub features well on TripAdvisor. Booking in advance is advised to avoid disappointment. There are a good variety of other great pubs in easy driving distance.

The nearest supermarket is Tuffins in Craven Arms. Tuffins Supermarket is the largest independently owned supermarket in Shropshire for all your grocery, household and drink requirements, along with a petrol station. With strong links with many local retailers and producers, it specializes in fresh, local grocery produce. Also in Craven Arms are takeaways, bank, Post Office and other small retailers.

The nearest town is Clun which is only a 5 minute drive away. The town is very pretty with pubs, tea shops and small local shops. Also worth a visit are the ruins of Clun Castle and the 15th Century pack horse bridge. For more information about Clun and the surrounding area click on this link Shropshire Hills Area.
